Frequently Asked Questions

No. While we focus on reproductive mental health–infertility, reproductive health diagnoses, fertility treatment, perinatal and postpartum, learning about one’s own donor conception-people come in for a wide range of other needs, from marital strain, work challenges, losses, etc. Our services also include those who have chosen, for a variety of reasons, to be childfree or are childless by circumstance. Most are coming in for reproductive health related challenges, but most are not dealing with just that topic.

We are all active members of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG).  We all have educational training on fertility counseling from ASRM, Jones Infertility Conference, Fertility Counseling Postgraduate Course, etc., participate in group supervision, and continue to stay abreast of new information through being a part of ASRM.  We all regularly provide third party psychoeducation consultations and evaluation. We are familiar with all the medical lingo and acronyms.

According to ASRM guidelines, it is strongly recommended that all participants engage in a session to discuss important aspects to the process and what it will mean for a child. People come into these sessions in all spectrums of where they are to having taking about these issues extensively to knowing they want to move forward but not having done much research. Our goal is to help provide information, resources and support in using third party reproduction. We are here to answer questions, talk through decisions, and provide additional reading, research and other resources to help support you now and down the road. This session is primarily educational.
